BBtv: SELK Bag, Boing Boing Gadgets review with Joel Johnson

This week, Boing Boing tv is debuting regular product reviews produced with Joel and the crew, and we’ll blog ‘em here on Gadgets first. What better way to kick the series off than a lulz-filled analysis of the Lippi Selk Bag, a sleeping bag with arms and legs that makes our Joel look like a bespectacled Gumby? The funky-chunky “sleepwear system” ranges in price from $169 to $399. I imagine they’d really come in handy at one of those outdoor all-nighter raves, unless you get lucky — interpersonal intra-bag intercourse might be logistically difficult in these.

Tell Joel what you think of his Gumby impersonation in the Boing Boing Gadgets comment thread for this video. And
here is a direct MP4 link, if you prefer a downloadable video to the Flash embed above.

  1. JOEL1967 says:

I like this idea, my thought was being able to turn the thermostat way down and stay warm. Lippi should consider a redesign for indoor use making bathroom use more convenient. All in all I’d buy one if they have one to fit my size.

  2. David Carroll says:

Way to go Joel. Is there a back door for #2?

And to Wesley: The fake “Beta bar” rewind at 1:14 was perfect! Ah! Sony Betacam! I used to think that was great until I started using IMX. Now we are migrating to XDCam.

Way to kick it up a notch guys….

  3. David Carroll says:

P.S. I am sure this has occurred to you mutants and mutants-in-training but:

When you cross-post items like this one across BB, BBTV,and BBGadgets, is it possible to dynamically cross post the comments as well?

That way all of the finely crafted droppings from Joel’s rabid fan(s) can be easily read and/or responded to in one (virtual) place.
