iPhone Hacks with Xeni

Xeni checks in with the authors of the forthcoming O'Reilly HOWTO book "iPhone Hacks" (David Jurick, Adam and Damien Stolarz) for a demonstration of how to unlock and jailbreak your iPhone or iPod Touch. The authors promise to teach you how to coax more out of these devices: little-known features, performance tweaks, and tips on great web-based apps to install -- video game emulators, IM and VoIP apps, and media players that can handle a wider range of filetypes.

That being said, don't use iLiberty unless you want to wreck your baseband. Use Pwnage:

Xeni, the earrings are lovely, and would be greatly attractive over a romantic dinner, because they would catch my attention ... which is what they were doing in your interview :-)

Not that we shouldn't all have control of our devices, but doesn't it seem odd that there's a Hacks book coming out now for the iPhone and Touch, given that official App Store is set to launch next week (presumably furnishing no-hack versions of many of these apps)?

mp4 download appears to be damaged, or uses a strange codec

Whats wreck your baseband mean? I've used iliberty a number of times now and it seems fine. I also heard I wasn't supposed to use pwnage cause it does something permanent to my something-er-other that I can't undo if it breaks.

PS, where's my open source iphone cracker, yall? Or was I using one and just didn't know? Also what's all this shareware crap, anyway? I thought that was just for widows-suckers.

I don't pay for shiznit.

#5: Yeah I seem to have downloaded this into iTunes several times, then noticed it wasn't there. Also, I had xferred this to my iPod nano, and got the Apple logo screen on it when I tried to play it yesterday. Rebooted the iPod and it worked, but no Xeni/iPhone video. Strange.
