Mark makes a mini amp / Funky cowboy (BBtv's 50th!)
W00t, here's the 50th episode of Boing Boing tv! Mark makes a tiny amplifier for an electric guitar, then proceeds to shred. Next, a short film by Walter Robot (Bill Barminski and Christopher Louie) in which an urban cowboy funks out.

I'm sorry, but morphing someone's body to music?
What of it? Simple, yet effective. And there was a certain symmetry with Mark's segment.
I note with approval that Mark appears to play a butterscotch Telecaster.
Well, shredding is hardly what Mark is doing but hey he at least play which is more than I can say.
Happy 50th BBtv!

The cowboy bit is much better with the full window quicktime view.
Sweet axe, Mark!
You should post the schematic for that amp... I want to build it
There's a schematic for the amp in the datasheet for the LM386: http://www.national.com/ds/LM/LM386.pdf
Hi, Marc,
Nice for you to show how to make a sweet little amp, but could you zoom into your breadboard :-) to let me peek at your breadboard construction!!
Thanks!

Looks like a fun little project!
Anyone interested in taking it up a notch to tube power should check out the AX84 Project web site.

They have a bunch of low-wattage tube-powered amp projects with schematics, photos, mp3 samples and discussion groups. I believe that some well-tested configuartions are available in kit form as well. I plan to try one this year by retrofitting an old cathedral style radio (hoping to find a non-workng unit on Ebay).
You've been consistently good as of late.
Keep it up, or else.
Does anyone recall a chewing gum commercial from the 80's that used a similar "morphing" effect, and some sort of catchy jungle music in it? I think it was Hubba Bubba, or Bubblicious... I'd love to see that again, I used to think it was kind of scary!
What ever happened to the geek excitement for the T-amp?
