Austrian tech-art-pranksters Monochrom show us how to hack into the human brain using a vintage calculator, duct tape, a USB drive, and some pickled onions (preferably Romanian). Then, Mark shows us how to make a very simple motor -- another fun project from scitoys.com.

Bah. I was expecting some sort of crude brain electrode/galvanic response controlled device, with the onion used as some sort of stimuli/conductive solution.

Instead I got a clip made of zany and fail. . .One star.

Reminds me of the Jeetertech virtual reality system by Scott Scarboro cc 1992:

The Jeetertech virtual reality system, which was on display at CyberArts, is the brainchild of San Francisco artist Scott Scarboro. It consists of a beat-up motorcycle helmet with an old-fashioned Viewmaster on the front and tinny headphones mounted on the sides. I placed it on my head and sniffed: Shaving cream? Nope, Vicks Vapor-rub, Scarboro said. After a minute of staring at the faded Viewmaster slides, I took the thing off. "I guess this is satirical, huh?" Scarboro, poker-faced, replied, "Well, some people see it that way...."

OMG, link to scitoys.com ! I read it looooong time ago, even tried to make some of their projects =) I even planned to make their Simple Laser Commuicator this winter (even though last time I read it was like 5 years ago).
