John Hodgman's Mole Men / Cavalcade of Hobos
Xeni barges in to a hotel room where the great John Hodgman is writing his next book (not on a PC, oddly). The book comes out in 2008, and will include never before known knowledge about mysterious MOLE MEN (among many other things). Then, we enjoy a cavalcade of hobos drawn by Ape Lad -- these are but a few of the 700 hobos named in Hodgman's last book, Areas of My Expertise. THAT IS ALL.

Xeni, How does John keep a straight face when telling these stories? I'd be cracking up!
i worship the ground john trods on. just sayin'. the man is a genius, and he knows it.
One of the hobos is Blackbolt from Marvel Comics?! I just about spit coffee all over my Macbook. :)
I can see Hodgman keeping a straight face, but how in the world did Xeni manage to keep from cracking up and weeping with laughter?
These are great, but I always get this deep bass hum in the audio. It really sounds terrible, and doesn't happen with anything else and only in the live recording segments. Have you tried removing background sound at all?
Good to see that he's keeping busy during the WGA strike. Come to think of it, I haven't seen any new PC/Mac commercials in a while, either. Little Grey Book shows, mayhaps?
That rendition of "Gin & Juice" is very similar to the infamous cover that always gets confused for Primus or Phish but is actually The Gourds. I'mma hafta check out podsafeaudio and see what else of worth is roundabouts.
And I can (and occasionally do) look at Apelad's drawings all day. It's such a friendly line.
Peaceflag2007- Why, that's Hobo #149: Blackbolt, King of the Inhumans!
#1: "How does John keep a straight face when telling these stories?"
Facial paralysis. It's a long story, involving a Tesla coil and the unnamed 701st Hobo.
Always was fond of Black Bolt.
is this real? or is he acting??
Uh oh, a plug for e-hobo.com. That site hasn't updated correctly in months. Flickr made some change and new drawings aren't added.
