Simpsons / Subgenius
David Silverman, director of The Simpsons, answers questions from our audience and cringes in horror when we drag an animated skeleton out of his closet -- Turbo Teen! (0:08 - 3:00) Then, we seek "slack" and internet salvation in a classic Church of the Subgenius ad from 1991, featuring music by Mark Mothersbaugh of DEVO. (3:21 - end)

excellent interview with Silverman! I can't wait to see his flaming tuba!
XJ,
Do you enjoy life as much as you seem to?

Praise "Bob"!
I had no idea the Church of the Subgenius actually had *ads*!
Other luminaries who worked on Turbo Teen include Jim Woodring and Jack Kirby. No foolin'!
Praise Bob!
Anyone else going to the SubGenius Mid-Atlantic Devival on Nov. 10 in Baltimore? I am. Never been to a SubG event before, but since I've been following the Church for over a decade I figure it's long past time.
...the holy water...
kept me up for days in Atlanta.
the devival itself was kinda boring, mostly stang ranting about face-fucking bats. i got sleepy and bored, just like any time i've been in church.
The Sub-Genius ad makes me want to watch Weird Al's "Dare To Be Stupid" video again. He did DEVO better than even DEVO themselves with that song/video.
